Abstract. The problem of evaluation of technical state of a system is considered. Specifics of construction of algorithms optimal with respect to a predetermined criterion are analyzed. Formal structures are presented to describe the sequence of controlled parameters checking in the process of the algorithm optimization. An ingenious mathematical formulation of the problem of optimal algorithm synthesis is proposed based on the criterion of maximal average probability of correct decision on the system technical condition.
