Abstract. A method of reconstruction of surge flooding is proposed. The method is based on construction of synthetic cyclone with shape and motion pass determined from retrospective meteorological data. The method may be applied to the study of flood shape dependence on local variations of weather conditions, as well as to development of ensemble of synoptic situations used for testing a system of flood prediction and prevention.
Keywords: synthetic scenario, combined method, flood prevention, ensemble of synoptic situations, retrospective data, reconstruction of extreme natural events
