LOCALIZATION OF TEXTURAL AREAS BOUNDS IN DIGITAL IMAGES OF WOOD SAMPLES

Abstract. An algorithm is developed for localization of boundaries between early and late wood areas in digital images of wood samples. The algorithm is shown to be optimal with respect to maximal credibility criterion. A hardware and software complex is described which realizes the proposed algorithm. Quality characteristics of results obtained with the complex are presented.
