Abstract. Gyroscopic inclinometer with the instrument kinetic moment vector lying in diametrical plane of the device is considered. Design variants of such a down-hole inclinometer allowing for the instrument rotation around both longitudinal and transversal axis are described. The latter property allows for improvement of the inclinometer accuracy and widening the scope of working of the instrument. Special engineering solutions are presented to meet rigid restriction on external diameter of the inclinometer when serially manufactured gyroscope is used in the construction.
