Abstract. Several problems of laser radiation interaction with biological tissues are considered. Perspective applications of diagnostic lasers are discussed: gas analyzers on the base of tunable laser diodes in the middle IR, coherent high-resolution tomography on the base of wide-band light sources, and terahertz tomography.
