APPLICATION OF PLANE-PARALLEL PLATE TO CONTROL OVER RADIATION ELLIPTICITY

Abstract. Plane-parallel plate of arbitrary thickness with optical axis perpendicular to the plate is shown to provide a mean for control over ellipticity of radiation. Change in ellipticity is performed by rotation of the plate through a given angle around an axis in the plate plane. Characteristics of plates made of MgF2 and LiNbO3 are presented.
