Abstract.   The causes of the hydrodynamic sliding bearing wear are described and methods of the bearing reliability improvement are considered. Description of the bearing with improved reliability is presented, analysis of lubrication film characteristics in sliding bearing is performed. A mathematical model of the bearing with enhanced reliability is developed.
