COMPENSATING FOR SIGNAL DELAY IN DIGITAL SMOOTHING FILTERS

Abstract.   Suppression of narrowband noise with digital smoothing filters is shown to cause a significant signal delay. The possibility of compensating for the delay with the use of data-hold devices is analyzed. The influence of datahold device on quantization noise levels is estimated.
