Abstract. Resolution of spectrophotometer Cedar-M designed for analysis of wood species is considered. The possibility of improvement of the instrument resolution by variation of the diffraction lattice the operation area is demonstrated. A numerical method to calculate the intensity distribution over the circle of confusion and resolution of the spectrum analyzer with concave diffraction screen is presented.
