Abstract. A mathematical model is developed for determination of contrast sensitivity function of technical vision system. The model is based on an idea of functioning of receptive fields of human vision system. Aquantitativemeasureofdigitalimagecontrastisproposed. Comparative analysis of the model data and experimental data on contrast sensitivity of human vision system is performed.
