Abstract. The problem of increase in satellite modem communication channel bandwidth is considered. Methods for estimation of frequency error are analyzed in terms of both theory and practice of digital signal processing. An approach is proposed to calculation of complex number module based on the Fast Fourier Transform technique. The approach is shown to reduce significantly the computation time of signal processing. Test results obtained with system on a chip used in the satellite communication complex under development are presented.
