Abstract. An algorithm for current identification of discrete system with variable delay is proposed. The system under consideration is supposed to consist of ideal pulse element, zero-order extrapolator, and linear continuous component. The algorithm is employs assessment of the delay parameter for a grid function (the fractional part of the delay parameter value) in modified inverse Z-transform based on condition of zero value of continuous component transient in the delay point.
