Abstract. A model is proposed of optimal three-dimensional likelihood quantization of determined or random volume space by a set of equal quanta for which the probability of the quantized space representation reaches its maximum. The size of optimum quantum is determined by distribution of its zone of influence, boundary values of guaranteed probability, and an influence range parameter. A model for estimation of information quantity in the quantization space is presented.
