Abstract. The approach to mathematical modeling of variable structure and dimension systems is proposed. The model is described by the systems of ordinary differential equations, the number and the form of which depends on behavior of special variables. The continuous and discontinuous variation of structure is considered. The solid body system stabilization problem is adduced as the example of proposed method use.
Keywords: dynamical system, mathematical model, structure variation, variable dimension, decomposition, control.
