Abstract. Electro-optical properties of lithium niobate crystal are studied experimentally. The experimental set-up includes an electro-optical modulator based on Pockels effect. The modulator characteristics are examined with the use of conoscopic figures; basic characteristics for wavelengths of 0,85 and 1,3 μm are presented.
