Abstract. The problem of dynamic stability of tooth-belt gear is investigated analytically. A method is proposed and corresponding equations are presented for derivation of regions of stable translational movement of the tooth-belt. Two regions of unstable rectilinear movement of the belt are recognized: the region of divergent instability and the region of parametric resonance.
