Abstract. Simple one-element thermodetectors for biological objects detection against a natural background are considered. Principles of design of such detectors are analyzed. Thermoelements are proposed for employment as photo receivers to avoid mechanical or manual scanning of thermal target. Method of calculation of detection range for various biological objects (e.g., human) is presented. Elements specifications for optical and electronic components of the thermodetector are formulated.
