SURVIVABILITY ASSESSMENT FOR COMMUNICATION SYSTEM OF LINEAR TYPE WITH MOBILE GROUND UNITS Zhao Lei , Karmanov Andrey G., Igor B. Bondarenko , Konstantin Tkachev
173
An algorithm is proposed for survivability assessment of communication system of linear type with a large number of mobile ground units. A special attention is paid to the key indicator of communication system survivability – the system users’ density. A mathematical model of communication system of linear type is developed; results of experimental testing are presented.

The problem of high-precision evaluation of current azimuth in pedestrian navigation system is considered. A well-defined model of azimuthal channel is formulated for navigation system consisting of digital magnetic compass, satellite navigation unit, and angular velocity sensor. An algorithm of complex processing of the channel information with the use of the basic variant of Kalman filter is proposed. The procedure of assessment and compensation for systematic error of magnetic compass is given special attention when azimuth value is determined. Results of a priory estimating of accuracy of azimuth channel information processing for various magnetic distortions and the sensors precision characteristics confirm the proposed approach.

A mathematical model is presented for threat prevention unit in video surveillance system consisting of visor, guiding mechanism, and targeting device Conversion of coordinates in a relative system into absolute system coordinates is carried out. Results of simulation demonstrate effective functioning of the unit in the selected coordinate systems. Calculations are performed to correlate the pointing error and coordinate transformation inaccuracy with angular field of view of the surveillance system lens.

The problem of evaluation of complex system reliability characteristics by a limited volume of experimental data is considered. To improve the estimates accuracy, it is proposed to apply the method of experimental data priority allowing for combining all available a priory and experimental data on the reliability characteristics.

COMPUTING TECHNIQUE

202
An algorithm for the generation of ternary Gordon—Mills—Welch (GMW) sequences and for determining the initial states of the shift registers, incorporated into the generation device, is developed. Ternary GMW-sequences, as well as binary, may be formed on the base of set of shift registers, which linear feedback are determined by coefficients of indivisible polynomials being the factors of testing polynomials of GMW-sequences. The main problem in the construction of devices generating ternary GMWsequences based on shift registers is absence in literature of algorithms of definition of their initial states. In accordance with the proposed algorithm the initial state of shift registers is determined by the decimation of the symbols of the base M-sequence, on which GMW-sequence is formed. Decimation index depends on the ratio of the degrees of the roots of polynomials-factors and roots of polynomial of the base M-sequence.
ON REDUCTION OF SPACE DIMENSION AT DIGITAL SIGNALS CORRELATION AND CONVOLUTION Grishentsev Alexey Yu., Korobeynikov Anatoliy Grigorievich
211
Theorems on reduction of space dimension at correlation and convolution of n-dimensional digital signals are formulated and proved, specifically for fast convolution on the base of the fast Fourier transformation. Several examples are presented as illustrations. The theorems are reported to have possible applications in the problems of digital processing of n-dimensional signal, broadband radio communication, optoelectronics, in solitary waves (solitons) research, and in other fields of fundamental and applied natural sciences.

MODELLING OF SYSTEM OF GALVANOMETER SCANNERS OPERATION AT FRAME SCANNING OF LASER BEAM Alekseev Sergey A., Matveev Nikolay V, Prokopenko Victor T., Kashnikov Aleksander S., Tregubov Aleksander V.
219
Analysis of scanning systems for frame scanning of laser beam is presented; the use of galvano scanners is justified. Galvanometer scanner operation under PID control at high frequency of scanning is studied. Modeling of this type of scanner considered as a combination of mechanical and electrical systems demonstrates the system response to lag behind the control signal in time, the effect is to be accounted for when the scan of the beam line is performed.
AN ALGORITHM OF GRID POINT DETERMINATION IN IMAGES FOR STEREO VISION SYSTEM Panin Sergey V., Chemezov Vitaliy O., Lyubutin Pavel S.
224
An algorithm of grid point determination at calibration pattern images for stereo vision system calibration is presented. The proposed approach is based on analysis of the shape of characteristic points on the template and their spatial location. Testing results demonstrate a robust detection of the calibration pattern in image noise conditions under pattern rotation relative to the camera within a wide angle (up to 45 degrees). The developed algorithm is shown to provide an accuracy of up to 1.2 pixels in determined coordinates of the calibration pattern points.

ASSESSMENT METHODS FOR WORKPIECE SURFACE MICROGEOMETRY Medunetskiy Viktor M., Vasilkov Sergey D.
231
An analysis of standard methods of parts surface microgeometry assessment is carried out. Consideration is given to a new method defined as a nonparametric approach (prof. V. A. Valetov method) based on the use of graphic images of various functions as standards for estimation and control of surface microgeometry. Effectiveness of this approach is confirmed by presented results of experimental studies performed with the use of nonparametric estimation criteria.

An effective artificial base method for measuring machine part wear in field conditions with the use of digital microscopes and various means for notch formation is considered. Methods of notch formation and evaluation of their parameters are described in details. A method of wear assessment with the use of Digmicroprof microscope is developed. Calculation of the notch depth and residual service life expectancy is carried out with the use of specially designed programs in MathCad for all variants of the notch type.
METHOD OF TITANIUM SURFACE COLOR MODIFICATION WITH NANOSECOND LASER PULSES Veiko Vadim Pavlovich, Odintsova Galina V, Gorbunova Elena V., Yaroslava M. Andreeva, Karlagina Yulia Yu., Romanov Valeriy V.

Laser-induced coloration of titanium due to its surface oxidation under exposure to nanosecond pulses from 1.06 μm fiber ytterbium laser is proposed. Various colors on the titanium surface may be formed by variation of laser irradiation regimes (e. g., changing overlapping), the irradiated surface color is a function of viewing angle. Presented results of spectrophotometric study of processed samples demonstrate dependence of colorimetric characteristics of the surface on laser pulse parameters and on the radiation incidence angle. Increase in the light incidence angle is found to retain the spectrum appearance but causes a parallel shift of the spectral distribution to ultraviolet region. The proposed method of oxide films formation may find an application in industry to create images of controllable color on titanium surface.
