Abstract. A solution to the problem of adaptive torque control in fuel-injection internal combustion engine with variable valve timing is proposed. The controller design is based on parametrically and functionally uncertain torque model. To achieve the control objective and to compensate for uncertainties of the model, the method of indirect adaptive control is employed. Workability of the proposed approach is illustrated by presented results of computer simulation.
