Abstract. Thermal regime of a cylindrical object on lunar surface is studied for the cases when the object is mounted at the Moon equator, on illuminated and shadowed areas. The possibility of thermal stabilization of the inner body separated from the outer envelope by a thermal insulating layer is demonstrated; the desired temperature level may be maintained with the use of a flowing-water heat-exchanger at mass of water discharge of no more than 5.5 g/min.
