Abstract. Approaches to design systems based on representation of technological processes as oriented graphs are considered. Limitations and problems associated with the approach are revealed, method of synthesis based on linear graphs is developed to avoid the difficulties. General concepts of the method are formulated; an algorithm of the method application for instrumental system of synthesis of technological processes is presented.
