Abstract. The actual problem of substantiating the general method for simultaneous evaluation of the linear and volumetric wear resistance of materials is solved with the account for constant and variable pressure on the sample. This makes it possible to assess the level of volumetric wear resistance in accordance with the standards of linear wear resistance.
