Abstract. The problem of image watermarking for multimedia product copyright protection is considered. The new method proposed here is based on a known digital watermarking algorithm, but the watermark is placed in spectral domain to increase its tolerance to marked image compression and transformation. Efficiency of the proposed method as compared with known ones is confirmed by presented quantitative characteristics.
