Abstract. Two approaches to stereophonic signals encoding allowing for high quality stereo signal with low bit costs are considered. The first approach is useful in the case of low bit rates, but sometimes does not allow for a perfect signal reconstruction. The second one is more bits expensive but makes it possible to obtain perfect quality.
