Abstract. The problem of refinement of atmospheric model in a given altitude range based on sounding data is considered. Vertical profiles of atmospheric thermodynamic parameters are represented in the form of canonical expansion with known mathematical expectation, mean square deviation, and coordinate functions in nod altitude values. An approach is proposed for calculation of corrections to atmospheric model parameters at altitude above the upper limit of sounding region.
