Abstract. Canonical Pugachev decomposition is used for modelling of randomly inhomogeneous component of onedimensional electron concentration profile in the ionosphere. For the case of normal and stationary random field of electron concentration, autocorrelation functions are chosen for specific regions of equatorial ionosphere and characteristics are obtained for random decomposition coefficients.
Keywords: random field, modelling of inhomogeneous ionosphere
