Abstract. The problem of tracking of multiple objects under a priory uncertainty of temporal and spatial characteristics and requirement of minimal time for object detection is considered. A strobe method is developed for detection of target-like markers allowing for formation of tracks of many objects. The method may be applied for small distance between the objects at wide range of inter-frame displacements of the objects and high noise level. The method presupposes that each track may be approximated by a linear function over the course of 3—5 frames. Effectiveness of the proposed method is confirmed experimentally with the use of synthesized sequences.
