STUDY OF PIEZOELECTRIC ACTUATORS OF A MICROROBOT Pavel Yu. Gedko, Arkady B. Smirnov, Sergey I. Pugachev, Eugeny Yu. Rytov
7
Tubular piezoelectric actuators of microrobot based on spherical joint with parallel kinematics are considered. The effect is revealed of the ball rotation caused by the piezoactuator asymmetry when operated at ultrasonic resonance frequencies. The ball motion parameters are calculated. Technology of the actuators manufacturing is analyzed, advantages of application of ultrasonic shaping of the tubes are demonstrated.
SYSTEMIC PROBLEMS OF SCANNING DEVICE DESIGN FOR UNDERGROUND CAVITIES Mikhail A. Nozdrin, Andrey A. Kraskovsky, Yury S. Monakhov
15
The basic challenges in design of devices for underground well scanning are described. The issues under consideration include development of the drive, sealing systems, power electronics, and navigation. Resolution of the issues is shown to provide a significant increase in the device characteristics.

DIAGNOSTICS AND ACCURACY OF MECHANISMS AND INSTRUMENTS

20
An algorithm for calculation of metrological reliability parameters of instruments on the base of various tests data is presented. The algorithm employs the effective criterion called the metrological reliability safety factor.
24
An algorithm for calculating the elastic constants of helical anisotropic rod screw elements on the base of optimization methods is presented. A cable is considered as an example of helical anisotropic rod. The elastic constants of the cable are calculated by minimization of a functional in preset intervals of the Poisson ratio values.
FORMATION OF SURFACE RELIEF UNDER FRICTION Sychev Sergey V, Yury A. Fadin
30
Experimental study of initial stage of abrasive processing of aluminum oxide single crystal demonstrates a cyclic variation in the surface relief. The amplitude-modulated process of surface roughness modification is shown to be characterized by carrier and modulation frequencies derivable from experimental data.
33
The necessity of elaboration of new standards on the base of GOST 1643-81 in agreement with ISO recommendations is justified. Comparison of GOST 1643-81 and GOST 21098-82 with ISO standards (ISO 1328-1:1995, ISO 1328-2:1997) is carried out; advantages and disadvantages of GOST 1643-81 are considered.
38
Theoretical background for estimation of subjective error in pointing visual analyzing gage is presented. The main objectives of visual analyzer are considered, characteristics of operator eye movements are analyzed.
42
Stress intensity factors for surface crack in piezoelectric plate are derived from calculated stress for piezoelectric plate without the crack. The calculations are carried out with the use of Erie function equations and a correction factor for the body finiteness.
46
A mechatronic module incorporating optoelectronic converter of small image shift with means for linear movement of mechanical system is proposed. The module allows for resolution of 10–5 mm shift from a given deflection of elastic microelements with small flexural rigidity. The total relative error of the optoelectronic converter on a mobile interface comprises 0,09 %.

VISUALIZATION AND PROCESSING OF SIGNALS AND IMAGES

APPLICATION OF IMAGE ANALYSIS ALGORITHMS FOR FIRE DETECTION Artem Kuznetsov, Musalimov Victor M, Alexey Saenko, Trambitsky Konstantin V
51
Existing methods of fire detection using both algorithms of computer vision and digital image processing are described, benefits and drawbacks of the methods are considered. The problem of stuff training and coordination of actions within fire control is addressed.
ENUMERATIVE CLASSIFICATION OF SCANNING PROBE MICROSCOPY DATA Musalimov Victor M, Kovalenko Pavel P., Svetlana Yu. Perepelkina
57
A new method for enumerative classification of scanning probe microscopy data is proposed. The method is based on Morse polynomials and capabilities of enumerative combinatorial analysis.
63
An instrument for measuring the dynamic vision acuity (DVA) is developed. Application of the instrument allows to eliminate the frequency error caused by screen flicker and inertia. A model of the instrument is used for determination of the DNA in 40 patients; the results are compared with independent measurements data.

MODELING OF PROCESSES

66
The possibility is considered of application of intelligent measurements theory to the problem of imitation modeling of tooth-wheel cutting.
MODELING OF FOREST FIRE SPREAD WITH THE USE OF PERCOLATION THEORY Sergey A. Astafiev, Dmitry Yu. Lysenko, Anatoly S. Shirokov
70
A prototype program for simulation of forest fire spread on the base of data obtained with unmanned monitoring of the area is presented. Percolation approach to fire prediction is applied allowing for consideration of probability of the fire spread in a given direction.
74
Dynamics of machine for optical glass processing is considered. Differential equations to describe the mechanism motion are derived. Model equations are applied for simulation of optical glass polishing machine operation under external sinusoidal influence in MatLab with the use of Differential Equation Editor.
