Ways to minimize vibration in optomechanical modules with stepper motors are considered. Differential equations describing the stepper motor vibrations when module stops (transmission without self-locking) are derived. Reducing vibration at the engine stops is provided by changing the unit design parameters. Coincidence of the module eigenfrequency with a frequency of electrical pulses of the stepper motor drive is investigated. An example of modal analysis of the construction in the finite-elements workbench ANSYS is demonstrated. Changing the construction eigenfrequencies with additional ribs and attachment points is shown to reduce vibration. Presented results of calculations and analysis are obtained for the example of the automated ballistic identification scanner EVOFINDER.

636
A method for determination of tribological characteristics of contacting surfaces with the use of the universal friction machine MTU-1 is presented. The characteristics under consideration include the friction torque, the load power, and the friction coefficient. The method is based on application of calibration curves for adjustment of the measurements to current parameters of the contacting surfaces and the environment. Results of the experimental study are compared with the data obtained with the use of known methods.

641
A method for fast evaluation of tribological parameters of wear-resistant materials is proposed. Estimation of wear is based on comparison of analyzed material surface profiles before and after friction testing. Evaluation of the friction coefficient is performed in normal braking conditions.

645
An algorithm of image recognition based on segmentation method with the use of Hough transform is proposed. The algorithm is created for development of optical-design method of evaluation of physical-mechanical characteristics of helical elements of helically-anisotropic torsion bar on the basis of tensile test experiments. Aramid fiber torsion is considered as a spirally anisotropic rod. A high-speed video camera CamRecord CR4503 Optronis is used in the study. Computer processing of images based on computer vision algorithms allows to determine the axes of elastically equivalent elements of the torsion and their deviation from the main axis. As a result of the algorithm angle of the elements inclination and variation of the angle in the process of deformation under the action of longitudinal force is determined. The obtained values are used for description of deformation process of spirally-anisotropic bodies, in particular when evaluating the changes of the shear modulus.

The problem of identification of stress-strain state of the reinforcing winding for small products from composite materials is considered. An analytical dependence is revealed between the winding layer pressure, from one side, and the yarn tension and a parameter characterizing the rate of winding thickness change, from the other.

657
Principles of the theory of deformation of helically-anisotropic body as applied to determination of parameters characterizing the stress strain state of the body are presented. Examples of the theory application to cable constructions and other helically-anisotropic bodies are presented. A special attention is paid to modeling the process of layered structure formation during winding. The model accounts for relationship between the elastic modulus and Poisson's ratio of helically-anisotropic materials, physical, mechanical, and kinetic parameters of the yarn and winding system. The presented analysis of winding body state allows to optimize the process of winding yarn on a rigid base.

BIOETHICAL PROBLEMS OF BIOMECHATRONICS Svetlana Yu. Perepelkina, Popechitelev Evgeny P., Tomashevic Luka , Shataeva Elena V.
677
The problems related to the appearance of bioethical problems while using the products and services generated by such a new branch of knowledge as biomechatronics are considered. An overview of publications on bioethical problems is presented. The possibility of using of terminology and basic principles of the theory of biotechnical systems and technologies for implementation of bioethical practices is discussed. Special attention in the implementation of bioethical practice as applied to products and services of biomechatronics is suggested for the analysis of the basic technical principles of creating biotechnical systems of medico-social use. Among the causes of bioethical problems in biomechatronics, it is proposed to take into account the realities of the postindustrial society, the laws of market economy, and a significant transformation of basic social institutions, such as health and social protection.

Two patented methods of dynamic visual acuity (DVA) evaluating are described. Method 1 found on using the device that contain a rotating cylinder with a optotype table (strings of black squares separated by white stripes) on the outer surface. Method 2 found on using of high-speed video recording of patient eye movements during recognition of moving optotype (Landolt ring demonstrated on the screen). Statistics on the DVA values measured in a group of subjects in the age 21—35 years was collected (number of participants: method 1—42, method 2—9). The mean DVA value obtained from measurements by the method 1 equals to 25.08 ms, and measurements by the method 2 give 272 ms. Results of performed measurements are presented in various systems of units.
